Today, 5 June, 2020 marks World Environmental Day.
World Environment Day is an initiative birthed by the United Nations in 1974, which has evolved into a global platrform for raising awareness and takign action on urgent environmental issues: from marine pollution to global warming, to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. You may read more on the official website.
This year, the UN has themed World Environmental Day: “Time for Nature”.
“The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature. Yet, these are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a messag: to care for ourselves we must care for nature. It’s time to wake up. To take notice. To raise our voices. It’s time to build back better for People and Planet. This World Environment Day, it’s Time for Nature”.
We are blessed to live in a slice of heaven, indeed. As an Eco-Estate, the very foundations of Simbithi were laid with respect to the nature that abounds, here. We live in harmony with nature, and we are kind and loving to the wildlife we share our home with.
