Dear Residents,

Thank you to all who joined our second Webinar on Thursday, last week. It was wonderful to witness healthy, strong engagement from our resident community. We reached our limit of 500 attendees within the half of the Webinar: a testament to our active and thriving resident body.

We will continue to host these Webinars during the Lockdown and, possibly, after. Thank you, also, to residents for their positive comments on the Webinar chat: this goes a long way to uplifting the spirits of our team as we navigate these unchartered waters.

If you missed the Webinar or were unable to join, you may watch it here.

A reminder that, while our SEEHOA and SCC staff are working remotely during the Lockdown, you are still able to reach us via e-mail. Their contact details are found here for SEEHOA, and here for SCC. Security, as an essential service, is operating as normal. The Golf Course is being maintained by a skeletal team, under the supervision of Sports Manager, Warren Abery.

Update to COVID-19 Protocol

As announced during the webinar and late last week, we have made a few changes to our COVID-19 Protocol. The updated document is on our website’s homepage. Changes include:

The re-introduction of garden waste collection, during the lockdown and
Amendments to the procedure for deliveries
Finance Notice – KwaDukuza Municipality

Read more about the municipality’s financial procedures during lockdown, here.

Beware of Cyber Crime

While we are all doing our bit to ensure the quickest resolution to this global pandemic, it isn’t surprising to see others trying to prey on our good nature during this time. We urge all our residents to remain vigilant specifically with regards to phishing, mail spoofing and change of banking detail scams. Neither Simbithi Eco Estate Homeowners Association NPC nor Simbithi Country Club have changed their banking details.

Kindly note that the only manner in which such an event will be communicated will be in person at an Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting. Please treat any email, irrespective of the display name, as a fraudulent attempt at intercepting any payment due to our entities.

We hope all our valued homeowners and residents remain safe during this critical time.

If you would like clarity on this notice, or if you are unsure of anything relating to SEEHOA/SCC finances please contact Finance Manager Marc Mc Clure on fm@simbithi.com.

Eat Well During Lockdown

Are you also feeling a little more peckish (or, maybe snackish?) than usual, during the lockdown?

One of our residents, Claire McHugh, a dietician got together with a few of her colleagues to produce an insightful article on how to eat well during a lockdown.

A great piece, which you can find here.

Medical Professionals – Help Group

We would like to incorporate medical professionals into our COVID-19 Help Group. If you are a medical professional, who would be prepared to assist those requiring help during the lockdown, please e-mail marketing@simbithi.com.

Easter Competition

As promised, we have something very special for our Simbithi kids during Easter! We are sure you are as sad as we are that we cannot put out our BIG GREEN EGGS this year, and gather at the Heron for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. But, we’re still going to have some fun!

Here’s how you enter:

1.Take a creative photograph of you, and your family, celebrating Easter during Lockdown. You can do anything – be as creative as possible – but please do not leave your property.
2.Send your photo, with a unique caption, to marketing@simbithi.com. Entries close on Monday, next week.
3.Winners will be announced next week Wednesday. The winning entry will win pizza, ice cream and slushies for the family, at Heron Pizzeria!
