Environmental Competition ’21

We are calling on all the children of Simbithi Eco-Estate!

How well do you know Simbithi?

Do you love exploring?

We have just the thing to keep you busy during school holidays, while giving you a chance to show off your knowledge about our Simbithi.

Here’s what you have to do:

1. Find five South African protected trees on our Estate.
   1. Name the tree (you may use the common or botanical name)
   2. Take a photo of yourself next to each tree and tell us why the trees are good for our environment.
2. Find three alien invasives on the Estate.
   1. Take a picture in the area where you found the alien weed.
3. Tell us what you believe it means to be an ‘eco’ estate.

Ask Mom or Dad to help you put your entry together and e-mail to ea@simbithi.com. The winner, with the best entry, wins R500 cash! Second and third places will win R300 and R150, each. Our winners will also receive a free pizza from the Heron Pizzeria, each!

Rules:

1. The competition is open from Monday, 19 July 2021 until Saturday, 24 July 2021.
2. Be kind to our environment. Don’t damage any plant life or harm any wildlife.
3. Wear your mask when you are in a common area.
4. Maintain social distancing. If you see someone else at a spot where you would like to take a photograph, please wait for them to finish before you approach.
5. If you have a brother or sister, you may enter as a team with him/her. You may not enter in a group, as gathering is strictly disallowed.
6. If you are under 13 years old, please have your Mom, Dad or an adult with you when you walk around the Estate.
