Simbithi Country Club has an exciting vacancy for an Events Supervisor 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Ensures Function Rooms are set up in accordance with client requirements and Simbithi standards 
  • Responsible for the supervision of food presentation and serving in relation to event requirements 
  • Opening and closing a function 
  • Maintains the staffing roster for events/functions 
  • Updates and distribute events/function sheets on a weekly basis 
  • Communicates effectively across departments to ensure a seamless event/function. 
  • Responds timeously and eloquently to customer’s e-mails and enquiries. 
  • Conducts site inspections with prospective clients 
  • Maintains constant communication with guests to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded 
  • Manages and updates Club Events Calendar 
  • Responsible for recording, storage and maintenance of the events Operating Equipment. 
  • Supervises the cleaning and post function clean up and refuse removal 
  • Ability to handle and diffuse conflict situations. Maintains composure under pressure 
  • Finalises the event bill accurately and timeously. Follows-up and tracks outstanding event payments. 
  • Co-ordinates with outsourced suppliers i.e. Decor companies etc. 
  • Attends to any additional requirements or assistance required in the successful running of an event. 
  • Serves as a Relief to the Assistant Restaurant Manager on an adhoc basis 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Matric 
  • Excellent Communication skills 
  • Computer Literate in MS Office 
  • Certificate in Events Management being advantageous

  • Gregarious personality with strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt the communication style to suit the audience 
  • Self-motivated, ethical, tactful, reliable and accountable 
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, be deadline-driven and have the ability to receive direction
