Simbithi Eco Estate Home Owners Association an exciting opportunity for a Plans Examiner. 

Reporting into the Technical Manager the individual will be responsible for the following:- 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • • Receives, examines and comments on plans for new buildings, alterations or extensions utilizing the DRC checklist process 
  • • Works closely with residents, architects, engineers, local authorities, planners, surveyors, and other building professionals to ensure that the building projects meets the required SEEHOA standards 
  • • Oversees the building programme and ensures the building programme is completed within the stipulated timelines and providing residents with supportive guidance 
  • • Documents regular inspections of building work at various stages of completion. Assists with inspections and carries out an audits of building which deviating from plan as per checklist 
  • • Assists with ad hoc site inspections, writes up reports and keeps records. Provides feedback on deviations from plan. 
  • • Issuing of fines. Provides feedback on Fine Appeals. Liaises with accounts to ensure the internal audit process relating to fines is followed. Complies with the buying process of SEEHOA 
  • • New Building Products are assessed, and recommendations made to the DRC 
  • • Issues approval to commence with building work (site handover) and completion certificates 
  • • Keeps up to date with relevant regulations and legislation 
  • • Weekly update reports to Line Manager 
  • • Works closely with Maintenance on matters pertaining to sites 
  • • Responsible for compiling the departmental budget in conjunction with the Finance Department and manages costs within the budget. 
  • • Chairperson of the Design Review Committee Meeting 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • • Degree / Diploma in Architecture with SACAP Registration 
  • • 5 years experience as a Senior Technologist with higher end building architecture and design 
  • • Valid Drivers Licence and Proven Conflict resolution skills
