“A child who reads will be an adult who thinks.”
As part of our ongoing partnership with Partners for Possibility, we joined forces with Redcliffe Primary School to celebrate World Read Aloud Day. This is an initiative that takes place annually, on 2 February 2022 and involves individuals, corporates, families and schools pledging to read aloud for an hour, to encourage a love of reading and recapture the magic of books.
This year’s story, chosen by Nal’ibali, a national organisation that encourages literature in schools, was called “A Party in the Park”.
Marketing & Communications Co-Ordinator Jodi Chetty spent the morning with learners reading the story and then, of course, re-enacting it with a healthy amount of noise and activity!
Principal, Mr. Nhlakanipho Zwane thanked Jodi for her time and Simbithi for their continued partnership and support. “From the sanitisers and cleaning materials we received from Simbithi in December, which were desperately needed precisely when they arrived…to the lovely morning reading with our children. We are thankful, and grateful and hope to continue this relationship with Simbithi.”
