Simbithi Eco Estate (Simbithi), is a leading gated estate on the North Coast of KZN which is home to approximately 6500 residents, comprises a commercial business zone, Country Club, restaurants, and a golf course. 

Simbithi Eco Estate Homeowners Association (SEEHOA) needs to appoint a General Manager who will be responsible for co-ordinating the strategic and operational management of SEEHOA. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with the General Manager of the Country Club, which includes the restaurants and golf course. 

 Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Executes the Estate strategy and operations according to the Board and management strategy 
  • Drives best practices across the SEEHOA in line with the Association of Residential Communities (ARC) with emphasis on improving the experience of residents whilst ensuring financial sustainability 
  • Drives and communicates the Board’s strategic priorities and develops quarterly and annual goals of Heads of Departments 
  • Focuses on technological advances and environmental, social and governance practices to move the Estate to a self-sustainable future 
  • Develops and monitors systems to manage daily operations 
  • Oversees the performance of the executive and senior management team against strategic priorities, goals, and the daily management of areas of responsibility. 
  • Ensures uninterrupted, operational service delivery to Simbithi by providing leadership and direction to the executive and senior management team on general estate management, including security, building control, environment, human resources, marketing and communications, revenue generation, budgets, financial controls, and information technology 
  • Oversees risk management and legal activities including, but not limited to, letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents. 
  • Leads multidisciplinary project teams 
  • Prioritises and effectively manages all stakeholder relationships, including residents, service providers, local authorities, and neighbouring communities 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • MBA or relevant degree or qualification 
  • 5 -8 years’ Executive Management experience 
  • Proven experience in leading a diverse team 
  • Exceptional conflict management, dispute resolution and communication skills 
  • Gated management experience would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.
