We are so excited to announce our first, annual Simbithi Eco-Estate Fishing Competition!
Our environmental department has expressed a desire to re-evaluate the species of fish found on the Estate’s dams. We would love to involve YOU in this project. Join us for a morning of fun at three of our largest dams and celebrate Fathers’ weekend, while we enjoy our beautiful environment.
Here’s how it works:
Dads, if you would like to enter with your lads and/or lasses, please send:
1. Your full name,
2. The names of your children who will be joining you and your address to marketing@simbithi.com. Registration opens on Monday, 31 May 2021 and closes on Friday, 11 June 2021.
Please note: registration is open to residents of Simbithi Eco-Estate, only.
Participants will be divided into three large groups, each of which will fish on one of our dams: Cormorant, Fish Eagle and Heron. You will be notified which dam you are fishing at closer to the time. On the morning of 19 June 2021:
1. Participants must arrive at their respective dam by 08:45. Staff will be on hand to register you.
2. Participants must provide their own fishing tools and material.
3. Participants must wear a mask at all times. Social distancing will be monitored by staff.
Fishing will take place between 09:00 and 10:00. Our judging panel will be on hand to measure fish, note the species and ensure they are safely re-released. Several prizes are up for grabs! Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, we will not host a prize giving. We will announce the winners on a forthcoming webinar and share an update in our weekly communication.
