Calling all resident citizen scientists!
Our environmental department is embarking on an antelope count on Thursday, 5 March 2026. The count is one of the tools we use to update the antelope population statistics on Simbithi in relation to our permits and carrying capacity. If you would like to join us, please note the following:
- Training will be provided on the morning of the count.
- The exercise involves a fair amount of walking, so please ensure you have a pair of comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing.
- You are welcome to bring your binoculars to spot wildlife.
We are limited to 30 places, and bookings will be taken on a first come-first served basis. The team will meet at 07:00 at the HOA Welcome Centre and the exercise should be completed by 12:00.

If you are not able to join us in-person, you are welcome to join us by dropping a location pin onto our Simbithi Wildlife WhatsApp group if you see an antelope during our count. If you are not on our Wildlife Group, WhatsApp us on 073 156 1378 to be added.
