Mandela Day is one of our favourites at Simbithi. It is a time for us to pause and share some colour and joy with our community, as Nelson Mandela himself did. In the last few years, we have painted, gardened, shown kindness to crisis victims with care packs, iced and donated hundreds of cupcakes. This year, we have a few initiatives that we would love to see our entire community get involved in. here’s how you may get your hands colourful:

Jars of Hope 🫙
Our team will be filling jars with dry ingredients for a delicious, wintery soup for our 67 minutes, next Tuesday. The jars will then be dropped off at homes for the elderly, orphanages and hospices close by. There are two ways to get involved:

  1. Donate old jars – old coffee/mayonnaise jars are the perfect size. Please clean them and drop off at the SEEHOA Welcome Centre.
  2. Join us to fill and pack the jars. If you would like to join a team, e-mail marketing@simbithi.com and you will be slotted into a group.

Mandela Day Blood Drive ❤️
The South African National Blood Service will be at the Country Club on Tuesday, 18 July 2023 for a Mandela Day Blood Drive. Please stop by and give the gift of life.

Cupcakes of Hope 🧁
The Fig Tree Restaurant will have scrumptious cupcakes on sale on Tuesday, next week. Pop in and grab a few for the office on your way to work, or enjoy a sweet treat (or two, or three) with the family. The proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Association of South Africa.

We hope to see you out and about, supporting these initiatives which speak to our strategic initiative of integration. If you would like any clarity or have any questions, please e-mail marketing@simbithi.com.
