Simbithi Country Club hosted its first Festival of Golf in late August. The week of Mardi Gras themed festivities brought bountiful gees to the Club, with golfers enjoying several themed days out on the course and on the deck, where they were entertained by Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert McIlroy, and a host of bands.
On Thursday evening, a Designer Cup took centre stage where, for the first time, golfers from all of Peter Matkovich’s played here, on his home course at Simbithi. Makto himself was honoured at a gala dinner on Thursday evening.
Thank you to the golf committee for their extraordinary efforts in arranging and executing this incredible event.
As part of its fundraising initiatives, the Golf Committee donated a tonne of flour to Sizani Combined School in Foxhill.
