International Day is the highlight of our Simbithi golf calendar, and the 2020 edition certainly lived up to expectations.
The Zimbos, captained by Janine Parkins, The Boere, captained by Robin Rigney, the Babas, captained by Steve Smith and defending champs, the Souties, captained by Brad Caufield comprised a bumper field of 144 golfers, each of whom arrived on Saturday, 7 November brimming with excitement and adrenaline.
Each captain had, of course, painstakingly selected their teammates to give them the best chance of lifting the trophy.
The characteristic rivalry coupled with the quintessential Simbithi gees made for a brilliant day out on the Course, in pristine conditions. A shotgun start got things underway with 18 holes and a foursomes format (two ball pairings playing alternate shots).
At the end of a fantastic day of golf, it was The Boere who emerged victorious, much to the delight of Robin Rigney and his charges. Here are the final results:
18 HOLES
Babas: 68
Boere: 55
Souties: 49
Zimbos: 44
9 HOLES
