VACANCY: Barista

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Barista to join our esteemed team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional coffee and beverage service, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring our customers continue to enjoy an outstanding experience at Simbithi.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee, tea, milkshakes, smoothies, and specialty drinks. Ensure quality, consistency and presentation.
Ensure the beverage station is clean, organised, and fully stocked before opening.
Clean and sanitize equipment including espresso machines, blenders, milkshake machines, and utensils regularly.
Replenish milk, syrups, ice cream, fruit, cups, lids, napkins, and other service items as needed.
Prepare stock requisitions in advance and monitor fast-moving items.
Submit requisitions to the Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager and receive stock from the Stock Controller.
Record opening stock and ensure proper rotation of perishable items.
Greet customers warmly and maintain a proactive attitude, always maintain a professional and friendly demeanor.
Present beverage options, explain ingredients, and promote specials.
Address customer concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.
Accurately record orders and enter them into the POS system immediately.
Process payments (card and fingerprint) correctly and thank customers for gratuities.
Reconcile sales and payments to ensure accuracy and account for all transactions under your shift.
Conduct stock counts with management and disclose any breakages or waste.

Requirements:

3 years previous experience as a Barista
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
